Teamspeak 3 is now our main voice comms

Gentlemen,

Our squad now has a Teamspeak 3 server which offers better quality voice communications than TS 2.
This sever is located in Sydney (that's 'Sudnee' Leady) and we got a good deal with a two year 25 user slot.
All this for $170 AUD, which I have paid for. If you would like to make a voluntary $15 contribution to this cost that would be appreciated. Leady and Chaos have special exemption being OS. My bank details are BSB 112-879, A/C NO: 050073056 Name: Bruce I Mackay. Now for the fun bit:

1. DO NOT DELETE YOUR EXISTING TS 2. We've got 10 months contract to run on its server so let's keep it in "mothballs" as our "just in case" back up.
2. Download Teamspeak 3 Client from http://www.teamspeak.com/?page=downloads
3. Follow installation instructions

For Targ's amusement the Password is: lomf (all lower case)

TS 3 is quite different to TS 2 so it will take a bit to get your head around, especially when it comes to adding people to hot keys etc but the sound on the few tests I did with Squiz is excellent. The tutorials and forum (access via the HELP menu) are also very good.

Finally, you may encounter (as I did) a problem allocating a button to the 'push to talk' and 'whisper' settings. If the keyboard doesn't respond, it's due to a conflict with one of your gaming USB devices. To overcome this problem simply unplug the device whilst you make your key allocations to TS 3. I'm sure this problem will be rectified in due course (remember TS 3 is BETA) but from reading the forums TS 3 has already acquired a lot of devotees and this product promises to give us a superior gaming experience. Well the Pass word does not work. I have connected everything and typed and retyped macka in lower case over and over but it wont work.

If you want to have an audio facility announcing when you (specifically) or others are entering and leaving channel you can set this up on TS3.

Step 1.

In Teamspeak Go to Settings > Options > then on the list on the left hand side click on Notifications.
Select the drop down menu at the top of the panel and change it to Default text to speech then click okay.

Step 2.

Select SELF at top of Teamspeak Panel and choose 'Set Phoentic Nickname' then type in how you want to be announced e.g.
450 Macka and hit play to hear how it sounds.

Once you are happy you are done!
